I found a rock! What do I do?

what do i do if i find a painted rock

Congratulations on finding an original piece of art!

Whether it was in a public place or in remote wilderness, painted rocks are being hidden all over the world in a giant easter egg hunt style game and you just played along!

If you found a rock marked with ilovepaintedrocks.com

I would love to know if you found one of my rocks!

On the back of my rocks, in addition to my web address, I usually ask you to share a photo in Hillsboro"Rocks"  on Facebook.

It's also nice to know where it was found as sometimes rocks travel quite a bit from their original hiding location.

Please click through that link, join the group and share.

If you don't live in the pacific northwest and don't want to stay, nobody's feelings will be hurt if you don't want to stay after posting.

If you don't use Facebook, I would love to have you email me a photo of the rock and the location you found it at ilovepaintedrocks@gmail.com.

I found a painted rock, what do I do?

If you found a painted rock, check the back for any writing.

Sometimes rocks have specific instructions spelled out on them like, "post a photo in (group name) on Facebook)".

Sometimes they just have a hashtag.

Search for that group name or hashtag on Facebook and then post a photo of the front and back of the rock you found.

It's that easy!

Once you have done that, you can choose to keep the rock or you can hide it somewhere else for another person to find and enjoy.

For more information on how to play the "Kindness rocks" or the "hide-and-seek rock game"  see my article: How to Play the Hide and Seek Rock Game.
