How to Paint a Cute Coffee Mug with a Mustache

rock painting idea - a coffee cup with a mustache from draw so cute

If you are always trying to think up new rock art ideas, participating in a paint-along challenge is a great way to do that! My local rock group is doing a rock-a-day challenge and today's challenge was "coffee."

I am actually terrible at drawing but I can follow instructions pretty well so after I googled "how to draw coffee" and saw my favorite YouTube channel for drawing: Draw So Cute, come up with a video, I knew I was in luck!

If you want to paint an adorable mustached coffee mug like I did, follow along with the video below and your Posca pens.

Notes: For best results, use a light colored rock with a flat surface for painting.

To paint the mug, I followed along using an extra fine black Posca pen and added coffee beans (she shows you how to draw those, too!) around the side.

Once that was done, I colored it in with more Posca extra fine paint pens and sealed it with clear spray sealer before hiding it in the community.

Don't forget to color any parts you want to have remain white with the white Posca pen because most rocks look darker when sealed.
